How much is luck on my side? Sometimes I feel like I am lucky and sometimes not. I am working on a big construction project at home and I have run into unforeseen extras. Wouldn't it be nice that for once, a project would go according to plan and be as easy as I thought it would be?Â
Wouldn't it be nice if life would go according to plan and be as easy as I thought it would be? Instead there are frustrations, roadblocks, limits to time and energy, and sin. I plan and plan but there are changes and adaptations that seem to derail my idea of what was supposed to happen.Â
That's when I need the reminder that there is another one planning in my life and for my life. The plan has a result of amazing glory now and later.Â
In him we have also received an inheritance, because we were predestined according to the plan of the one who works out everything in agreement with the purpose of his will, so that we who had already put our hope in Christ might bring praise to his glory. Ephesians 1:11-12
First off, God's plan results in my inheritance that is secured in heaven. I work and work for good results here that may or may not come. God worked and has already given me the promise and guarantee of the best results in heaven. There is no guesswork. There is no maybe to my heaven. It is certainty because I have already received it. I am simply awaiting it's eternal benefits. I am also included in the plans of the almighty God who orchestrates the universe. Everything in my life will work out for the purpose of his will, which is to save me and bring glory to him. I can plan but his plans are better and will be fulfilled. I will glorify him because he planned it. That is not luck, that is purpose.Â
