Let down. You've experienced it. What did you expect? Perhaps it's because you expected more that you felt so let down. You wanted fulfillment, happiness, support, and encouragement but didn't get it. It is ok to feel let down by another person. We seek to have all our needs met. But you've assigned that task to a person who can't and won't fulfill all your needs. People that God placed into your life are not meant to be the Savior. There is only one Savior.
At my first defense, no one came to my support, but everyone deserted me. May it not be held against them. But the Lord stood at my side and gave me strength, so that through me the message might be fully proclaimed and all the Gentiles might hear it. And I was delivered from the lion’s mouth. The Lord will rescue me from every evil attack and will bring me safely to his heavenly kingdom. To him be glory for ever and ever. Amen. - 2 Timothy 4:16-18
There is only one Savior, God himself. There is only one who can and has fulfilled all you need. What you need is waiting in the open hands of your God. He fulfills what you desire with his abounding grace.
Lord, fulfill me today as I know only you can. This frees me to view all those around me truly as gifts from your hand. Amen.
